Aad said over the phone to Aernout :

In 1997 Aernout Bakels called Aad de Haan, after having read in the Dutch IFW that ING Bankers had stopped funding De Haan Group, the most ancient forwarding group in Europe, founded in 1777, located in Alblasserdam (NL). Once again, a Bank had whacked a reputable wonderful company.

Aernout hurried, as a Christian brother of aged-Aad, to Alblasserdam and found in his blue glass headquarters the whole Group present: All eighteen directors of De Haan companies from all over the world, including Aad de Haan himself and Legal Representative (Curator) HAMM.

Aad suggested unceremoniously Aernout to the gathered people with the simple statement:

" This is the new owner! „
This is how entrepreneurs act in life!

Unperturbed calculated, rejected, cracked, embraced, cursed and groaned Hamm, Aernout, Aad, Evert-Jan and other lawyers with each other and exchanged for one guilder the property of all shares of De Haan Int. Forwarders, including logos, history, etcetera to Bakels.
